Things were business as usual for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow after his injury suffered during Thursday’s training camp practice.
While the non-contact injury looked like it could have been very serious at first and required a precautionary cart off the field, Burrow was going about his usual business at Paycor Stadium by the end of the day.
So says Pro Football Network’s Jay Morrison, who noted Burrow’s end-of-day procedure after medical tests:
After being evaluated by trainers and doctors, Burrow attended his regular post-practice meetings and left Paycor Stadium at the same time as the rest of his teammates were filing out around 7:45 p.m.
The team still hasn’t detailed how long Burrow will be out, though common calf strain timelines put it at a few weeks. It puts in doubt whether he’ll see any preseason snaps at all, but that’s not something he isn’t used to at this point.
More importantly, Burrow getting right back to normal stuff is simply a good sign, especially compared to what could have been when it comes to non-contact injuries.
If Burrow and the Bengals are lucky, everything about his on-field day-to-day will get back to normal quickly, too.
