Rob Gronkowski to the Cincinnati Bengals?
Probably not happing, but the future Hall of Famer dropped something of a bombshell on Tuesday night.
Asked during a Q-and-A for Autograph NFTs who he would want to play with after Tom Brady’s retirement, Gronk pointed right at Joe Burrow, as transcribed by Masslive.com’s Chris Mason:
“I kinda like this young buck quarterback. He’s in the Super Bowl now: It’s Joe Burrow, man. I watched him in college. I just love the way he presents himself out on the football field. In the pocket he’s just so calm and he just slings it out on the field.
“I just love his swag, too. If I had to pick a quarterback it’d be the young buck Joe Burrow,” Gronkowski reiterated. “He’s killing it right now in the game.”
Gronk, 32, is set to be a free agent in March. The Bengals like what they have with C.J. Uzomah and Drew Sample, but if a future Hall of Famer comes calling, it’s hard to ignore, right?
More importantly, it just goes to show something we’ve been stressing for a while — Burrow’s play and the team’s sudden contending status will have free agents flocking to join up.
Good thing they entered the postseason with the most cap space of any playoff team.
