Last week, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow made it pretty clear he was feeling better on the injured calf than in the past.
He proceeded to go out and lead the team to a 34-20 win on the road while throwing three touchdowns and showing some of that mobility that is so critical to his game.
This week, when asked if he’s as close to 100 percent as he’s ever been on the injured calf, Burrow provided an encouraging answer.
“By far,” Burrow said. “I’m confident I can run around and extend plays right now. It’s tough to say a percentage … It’s getting better and better.”
Of course, this doesn’t mean Burrow is about to go out and one-up his numbers from a week ago. But it’s a pretty great sign for the Bengals before they take on a tricky 3-1 Seahawks team that appears to be pretty good at applying pressure on quarterbacks.
So far, this was the hope — Burrow is nearing 100 percent with just one game standing between himself and the bye week, where he can rest the injured area some more.
