In what amounts to a monumental upset, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has swiped the title of Best Cincinnatian at City Beat.
Burrow pulled off the upset while dethroning five-time winner Fiona the hippo during CityBeat’s 27th Annual Best of Cincinnati competition.
The annual honor voting finished like so:
1. Joe Burrow
2. Fiona the hippo
3. Molly Wellmann
4. Rose Lavelle
5. Pete Rose
6. Bob Herzog
7. Anthony Muñoz
8. Thane Maynard
9. Megan Mitchell
10. Brian Garry
Luckily for the Cincinnati Zoo, it mopped up most of the other award categories. But the Burrow effect is real and it produced one of the bigger upsets we’ve seen in the annual voting — and it’s safe to presume he won’t let go of the top spot for a long time now that he has it.
Well, it was a good run! After five years at the top spot, it took @Bengals QB @JoeyB to finally dethrone Fiona the hippo as the #1 Cincinnatian! Congrats Joe Burrow! Who Dey! https://t.co/IYAbUEOyHM pic.twitter.com/GljoZ7grv1
