Monday Night Football announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman took the announcer’s jinx to an extreme late in the Cowboys’ victory over the Chargers.
With Justin Herbert and the Chargers' offense driving with a chance to tie or take the lead in the game’s final minutes, Aikman pointed out that the Cowboys defense had yet to sack Herbert all night and noted that the Chargers had kept star linebacker Micah Parsons in check.
As Buck jumped in to add that the Cowboys also had failed to record a sack in Week 5 against the 49ers, Parsons brought down Herbert for a game-changing sack, pushing the Chargers' offense back.
"No sacks by the defense at all, they've handled [Micah Parsons]." - Troy Aikman

Impressive timing.
The Cowboys' defense then put more pressure on Herbert on the next play, with multiple Dallas defenders swarming him to force the Chargers QB into an ill-advised heave that was picked off by Stephon Gilmore to seal the win.
Plays like that make the announcer’s jinx feel all the more real. Fans certainly took notice.
