There was some uncertainty about who would be starting at quarterback for the Seahawks during Week 15’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Eagles. But ultimately, it was Drew Lock who led the offense onto the field during prime time.
With Geno Smith sidelined, Seattle’s offense struggled a bit during the first half.
On fourth-and-1 during the first quarter from the 34-yard-line, the Seahawks opted to punt, prompting a curious response from Joe Buck, who suggested that having Lock under center was a considerable factor in the team’s decision not to go for it.
“Analytics say this is a ‘go for it’ situation, two yards or less, but that does not factor in Drew Lock...” said Buck as punter Michael Dickson booted the ball downfield. “… during his second start,” he added after a long pause.
Fans on social media got quite the kick out of Buck’s comments, and they were seemingly caught off guard by the nonchalant manner in which he ripped Lock.

“Analytics say you go for it on 4th and 1 but that doesn’t factor in Drew Lock” is some unexpected and extremely sad Missouri on Missouri crime from Joe Buck
