A jobs fair is taking place this week which organisers hope will attract some of the volunteers and workers from the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The West Midlands Jobs and Skills Showcase is being held on August 12 and 13 at Library of Birmingham and will be highlighting available roles from a broad range of sectors.
The event is being run by Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Combined Authority and Jobcentre Plus.
Also partnering the event is the Ladder Foundation which runs the 'Ladder' series of initiatives to match employers with training providers and apprentices.
Ladder for Greater Birmingham, which launched in 2018 and has created apprenticeship roles across Birmingham and Solihull, is a partner in our annual apprenticeship awards which is now open for entries.
On Friday, staff from the event partners and industry experts will be on hand to discuss roles in security and stewarding, warehouse and logistics, construction, health and social care and volunteering. On Saturday, the spotlight will be on retail, hospitality, cleaning, leisure, media and IT.
