Jobe Bellingham closing in on Sunderland transfer with 'medical scheduled'

Jobe Bellingham is closing in on a move to Sunderland with a medical scheduled for next week, according to the latest reports. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims the Birmingham midfielder will finalise a £3million move to the Stadium of Light.

The brother of England international Jude Bellingham, has been courted by the Black Cats sporting director Kristjaan Speakman over the past 18 months. Jobe has taken in a number of Sunderland games and was in attendance for the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final win over Luton Town.

Speakman remains a close family friend of the Bellingham's having helped both brothers during their rise through Birmingham's academy. The young midfielder is approaching the final year of his contract and the Black Cats have sprung into action.

Both brothers are represented by father Mark Bellingham and Sunderland look to have won the race to sign the upcoming star. Jobe made his full debut against Sunderland in the Black Cats 2-1 win at St. Andrew's.

The 17-year-old made 22 appearances in the Championship last season and is being tipped to follow in the footsteps of his older brother on the path to stardom.

Romano tweeted: "While Jude Bellingham is set to complete his move to Real Madrid… his brother Jobe Bellingham is expected to travel to Sunderland this week. #SAFC Medical tests are scheduled ahead of £3m move from Birmingham City."
