Joaquina, the 20-year-old Venezuelan star who shined at Andrea Bocelli's 30-year anniversary concert

In a magical evening in London this weekend, the young Venezuelan singer Joaquina captivated the audience as she shared the stage with the legendary Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli, at a massive concert in Hyde Park. The event, which marks the beginning of the celebrations of Bocelli's 30-year career, was a monumental occasion that highlighted the remarkable talent of this 20-year-old rising star.

The Miami resident became known in Latin music last year, when she became the youngest artist to win a Latin Grammy in the category of "Best New Artist."

A Night to Remember

Joaquina sang the iconic song "Vivo por ella" alongside Bocelli, a piece originally popularized by the tenor and Spanish singer Marta Sánchez. This performance was not just a milestone in Joaquina's career but also a moment that resonated deeply with audiences worldwide. Her heartfelt rendition and powerful stage presence left an indelible mark on everyone present.

Following the performance, Joaquina took to social media to express her gratitude and excitement.

"Dear Maestro Andrea Bocelli, I've been trying to find the right way to thank you for this opportunity, but I don't think I'll ever find the right words," she wrote. "Last night on that stage, for a second, I closed my eyes, and I felt like I was living in a dream... It's so surreal that I still don't want anyone to wake me up."

A Star-Studded Celebration

The concert, celebrating Andrea Bocelli's three decades in the music industry, featured a lineup of international stars, including Hans Zimmer, Seal, Zucchero, Nadine Sierra, and Esabel Leonard. Bocelli's children, Matteo and Virginia, also performed. They were all accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Each performance added a unique flavor to the evening, making it an unforgettable event.

However, it was Joaquina's performance that stood out, showcasing her as a prominent representative of Latino talent on a global stage.

Reflecting on her achievements, Joaquina shared her gratitude:

"It's such an honor. It's such a blessing in the beginning of my career to have something like that. I feel like it celebrates the beginning of an artist's career, like a push from your peers. I'm very grateful."

Rising to Fame

Joaquina's journey to this moment has been marked by remarkable achievements. Often compared to her contemporary Olivia Rodrigo, Joaquina brings a different, solemn tone to her music. Her first EP, "Los Mejores Años," reflects her meticulous approach to songwriting and music production. In an industry where multiple people often contribute to the creation of a song, Joaquina stands out by overseeing every step of the process herself.

Her dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed. Joaquina became the youngest winner of the new-artist award at the 2023 Latin Grammys. This accolade positions her as a promising figure in the Latin music scene, and she's poised to be the next big thing.

Plácido Domingo, Sofía Carson, Sofía Vergara and Christian Nodal will be the next Latino representatives at the celebrations for Bocelli's three decades in music. The main show will take place in Tuscany next weekend.
