Watford are waiting on late fitness tests for both Joao Pedro and Juraj Kucka for Wednesday night’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
The Hornets duo missed Saturday's 1-0 win over Aston Villa and are being assessed on Tuesday to see if they will make the clash against the Eagles.
Pedro, 20, has been a solid performer for Watford this season and has scored three goals in 15 games after netting nine in 38 Championship outings last season.
Kucka has similarly made 15 appearances for the Hornets this season after joining over the summer from Serie A side Parma on a one-year loan deal.
Elsewhere, midfielder Peter Etebo (quad), on loan from Championship side Stoke City, made his return to match action for the club’s Under-23s on Monday while Kwafwo Baah (foot) also featured.
“[Etebo] has trained with us from the start, we’ve just been waiting on the go-ahead from his surgeon in Finland, and he got that last week,” Watford boss Roy Hodgson told reporters on Monday.
“As far as I’m concerned we don’t have any concerns, but he hasn’t played a competitive match for many months so it is good he can get some minutes in today’s game, and if he comes through okay, then we’re going to be able to start counting on them.
“With the other two [Pedro and Kucka], their injuries were such that they are still being monitored.
“Both are making incredibly good progress, much quicker than we expected, but we still have to wait until tomorrow to see if Wednesday is a game too soon or if they can make it.”
Cameroonian defender Nicolas Nkoulou will be unavailable for the game as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
