Watford forward Joao Pedro says he is “very happy” to stay at the club beyond the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian had been a target for Newcastle United this summer and the Premier League side saw a £20m offer rejected last month.
Pedro was seen as a key part of the club’s promotion bid under Rob Edwards this season and the Hornets remained adamant the 20-year-old would not be sold.
While the club were braced for another approach, they were under no financial pressure to sell following Emmanuel Dennis’ £20m exit to Nottingham Forest.
Reports on deadline day suggested Everton had made a late move to sign him but Pedro confirmed his commitment to Watford in a social media post.
