A player who has been linked with Liverpool is thought to be closing in on a move to Wolves.
The Reds have previously been credited with an interest in Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes. Reports first emerged last year claiming that Liverpool were apparently interested in signing the talented 21-year-old.
Midfield has been an area of the pitch which has seen Liverpool credited with an interest in a number of players. And now it appears that Gomes could be set to join one of the Red’s Premier League rivals.

According to the Express & Star, Wolves are in talks to complete a deal to sign the Brazilian midfielder. The report states that they have begun to hold talks with Flamengo to sign Gomes, and are hopeful of sealing the signing soon.
It was only last year when Gomes admitted that he would like the idea of playing for Liverpool one day. Speaking to ESPN back in August, the Flamengo midfielder outlined his ambitions for his career.
“Liverpool is a team I would play for,” said Gomes. "Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream. My biggest dream in football.”
Gomes has also previously admitted that he is also a fan of Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
“I look at Thiago Alcantara," admitted Gomes, who has also been likened to Manchester United's summer signing Casemiro.
