Rangers will reportedly make a new attempt to sign Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan.
Reports over the weekend claimed the La Liga side had thrown out a loan approach from Ibrox chiefs.
The central midfielder, 30, is under contract at Sevilla for another two years and is also attracting interest from Greece.
However, it was claimed Rangers' offer was rejected by the Spanish side over a reluctance to subsidise wages to accommodate a deal.
Fabrizio Romano had stated: "Sevilla have rejected proposal from Rangers for Joan Jordán to join the Scottish club on loan.
"Sevilla have no plans to cover part of the salary for Jordán as Rangers required, deal currently off.
"Jordán, under contract until 2027 and currently expected to stay."
Now, though, Spanish journalist Facundo Serrano has claimed a 'new approach' is expected from Rangers to try and negotiate a deal.

But any deal would require Rangers to cover at least 50 percent of Jordan's wages.
Serrano reports: "Rangers will make a new attempt for Joan Jordan.
"Sevilla will not accept to pay more than 50% of his salary.
"From Greece they have also shown interest in Jordan's loan."
It comes after Philippe Clement admitted Rangers would have to sell players before they could spend any transfer fee themselves.
“That’s the reality,” Clement says when asked if his transfer plans were dependent on players leaving this summer. “That’s the reality that the board told me a few months ago.
“I know this, the recruitment team knows this also. This is the reality of the club. I had other expectations when I came in in October, I have to say.
“But I know the reality now. I am very motivated to build the club and help in that. It’s focusing not only on the short term but also on the long term."
