Joan Collins, 89, unrecognisable as she ditches iconic hair months after health scare

Actress Joan Collins has been a glamorous pin up for years. And at 89 the actress still looks as stunning as ever, and continues to defy her age.

The brunette bombshell has had the same look for years. Her image has become so famous, it's made her an icon amongst generations.

But Joan Collins has undergone a hair transformation that's made her look near-unrecognisable. The transformation was showcased on Instagram as she headed out for dinner with friends.

Heading out with friends for dinner, the iconic actress wore her hair in a sleek beehive. Her brunette locks were straightened into a flowing 1960s style hairstyle.

Sharing the new look with her 293k followers on Instagram, she wrote: "#greatfriends #nightout #favouritepeople #goodfood #wittyrepartee @louise.fennell @fennelltheo @charlesdelevingne @pandoradeleprivate #ahubby."

Earlier this year, the legendary TV and film actress required hospital treatment for 'intense pain' after a health scare, says the Mirror.

Dame Joan suffered a pinched nerve in her leg in July and was admitted to the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco for treatment. However, she was soon back at her home in St Tropez and walking around - and posted a video dancing to Blondie in her St Tropez pool.

The Dynasty actress wore a light blue bikini, sun hat and sunglasses, looked to be having a wonderful time as she boogied to Blondie's 1978 megahit Heart of Glass. Her representative confirmed that she is "doing fine" following the health scare, adding: "The pain has been excruciating but fortunately she's dealt with it, and she's okay now."

The rep added that Dame Joan is "enjoying the rest of her holiday in St. Tropez" as she recovers, but added that pinched nerves are brutal and "the most painful thing".
