JLL finds Paradise at new Birmingham home

A global property consultancy has announced plans to relocate its Birmingham team to a new office at the city's £1.2 billion Paradise estate.

JLL has agreed a ten-year deal for 13,815 sq ft of space on the fourth floor of the new One Centenary Way building which reached practical completion in March.

The agency, which is currently based in Church Street, is the latest firm to sign up for space at what is the third office building to open at Paradise, joining built environment consultancy Arup and investment bank Goldman Sachs.

JLL has appointed Tétris UK to lead on the design of the office space.

Head of Midlands Stuart Smith said: "I am delighted to be able to confirm we are moving our Birmingham office to Paradise.

"The Midlands is a key part of our UK and international network and so moving to Paradise is a milestone step in our broader commitment to sustainability, offering an energy efficient space that the team can be proud of and will no doubt be a draw for new colleagues.

"Our aim is to create the best working environment in the city. One Centenary Way places us at the heart of Birmingham's business ecosystem, making us accessible for clients."

Rob Groves, regional development director with Paradise's development and asset manager MEPC, added: "JLL is another welcome new addition to the Paradise estate and we look forward to seeing them move their 150-strong Birmingham team to One Centenary Way later in the year.

"We've worked hard to make One Centenary Way a low-carbon, future-ready location for occupiers as well as one of the most distinctive looking buildings in the city thanks to its striking steel exoskeleton design."

Future construction work planned at Paradise includes a new hotel, office blocks and public realm while work is well under way on a 49-storey apartment building called Octagon overlooking Summer Row.
