JK Rowling 'should not be arrested' over Scotland’s new hate crime laws, says cabinet minister

Harry Potter author JK Rowling should not be arrested for misgendering transgender women, a cabinet minister said on Tuesday.

Education Secretary Gillian Keegan said police should focus on “fighting crime” after it was suggested the Harry Potter author’s comments about the trans community could fall foul of new Scottish hate crime laws.
