JK Rowling's name removed from Harry Potter books by bookbinder

A bookbinder has removed JK Rowling's name from the cover of Harry Potter books, to sell to people who are fans of the series, but not the author's views.

Artist Laur Flom, 23, sells the re-covered books for £140 each, with a percentage of each sale donated to transgender charities. Flom embarked on the project to create a 'safe space' for fans who struggle to align themselves with the writer's views.

They began the project back in January 2022, as Rowling received criticism for her stance and comments about the transgender community. Rowling denies that her stance in discriminatory, but many fans of the series and members of the transgender community have accused her of transphobia.
