JK Rowling has been heavily criticised after her Harry Potter play sent out a message to celebrate Pride Month.

The official Twitter account of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - which is currently showing on Broadway in New York, and in San Francisco - posted a message on Monday to mark the beginning of the annual celebration of LGBTQ+ rights.

“Happy Pride Month from everyone at #CursedChild!” the post read, alongside an image of the Progress Pride flag, which includes the trans Pride flag colours.
