  • Fifteen-year-old academy star JJ Gabriel has formally notified Manchester United of his desire to cancel his registration and leave the club.
  • United were planning to include the forward in their Carabao Cup squad against Brighton, which would have made him the club's youngest ever player.
  • The club remain hopeful of resolving the situation and persuading the England Under-17 international to remain at Old Trafford .
  • Dubbed 'Kid Messi', Gabriel recently scored a hat-trick in the Uefa Youth League and was named the Under-18 Premier League Player of the Season last year.
  • Head coach Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs have both praised the teenager, with Giggs describing him as a generational talent.
