When former Celtics and current Mavericks forward Grant Williams sat down to discuss his playoff drama with Jimmy Butler, it seemed to make sense for the most part. Williams, who spoke about it during a sitdown with Tidal League, explained the back-and-forth with Butler.
“Jimmy says ‘hell naw he ain’t here,’ so I made a three, and I said ‘hell no, motherf-----, I’m here! … The next play, Jimmy … boom boom, stop, pivot, and-one, and he says ‘I’m here too, motherf-----!’” Williams said.
It all makes sense and seems like it’d be a highly possible outcome, except that fans were now treated to a bit of a plot twist. Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, took to Twitter in response to the video and posted a short but sweet message throwing some cold water on what Williams said.

He didn’t provide anything else to this point, but it seems there may be more to the story than what the former Celtics forward offered up. Whether or not fans are ever treated to the truth on this seems like a bit of a longshot, but we can keep our fingers crossed.
