Just when you think the college football season is winding down, a bit of a whopper has come to light Thursday. By now you’ve heard that Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has been reportedly contacted by a couple of NFL teams, but we’ve also received quotes from Harbaugh that he expects to be coaching the Wolverines in 2023.
Well, now we have news that Harbaugh is facing a potential suspension stemming from potential recruiting violations during the COVID-19 pandemic, and his responses to investigators. ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg and Mark Schlabach were the first to report the news.

According to those close to a situation involving Harbaugh and Ohio State’s Ryan Day on a conference call during the pandemic, the khakis and hat-with-a-suit-wearing Harbaugh criticized Day for what he thought showed impermissible contact between coaches and players during the pandemic. It’s what led to the “hang a hundred on ’em” comment from Day to his players — or so it was reported.

Now, we have to caveat all of this by saying that the investigation is ongoing and there has not been an official finding yet from the NCAA, but usually, where there is smoke there is fire with these sorts of things.
We’ll stay on top of this story as it develops, but it does make you wonder if the odds of Harbaugh jetting to the NFL just went up.
