Jim Goodwin hit with EIGHT GAME SFA ban as Aberdeen boss punished for Ryan Porteous 'cheat' comments

Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin has landed an EIGHT game ban for comments accusing Hibs defender Ryan Porteous of "blatant cheating".

The Aberdeen boss was hit with the SFA notice of complaint for “making comments of a discriminatory or offensive nature” after Saturday’s fiery encounter at Easter Road. Goodwin was furious after referee David Dickinson awarded Hibs a first half spot kick after Porteous went down in the box in a tangle with Liam Scales, which led to the Celtic loanee receiving his second booking of the game.

Goodwin was fuming after the full-time whistle as he unleashed on the Scotland cap. He said: “I don’t know how many times the boy Porteous can get away with that kind of stuff. We showed our players a number of instances when Porteous has won penalties like that in the past. People will say he’s good at it and he’s clever. But it’s blatant cheating as far as I’m concerned and it’s cost my team points."

The comments have now landed the Aberdeen boss a six match immediate ban, with two further matches be suspended until the end of season.
