Jim Goodwin has blasted the 'ridiculous' nature of the goals conceded by Aberdeen in his side's 3-1 loss to St Mirren.
Matty Kennedy opened the scoring in fine fashion but it was all downhill when Dons skipper Anthony Stewart was sent off. Mark O'Hara converted two penalty kicks and the Buddies were awarded a third in the second half, but they changed taker and Jonah Ayunga saw Kelle Roos save his effort.
It's a third defeat since returning from the World Cup break for Aberdeen, who's misery was compiled when Ylber Ramadani hit the bar and Greg Kiltie netted the winner after Roos pushed up for a corner. Goodwin told Sky they put themselves up against it: “It was eventful to say the least. The goals against are borderline ridiculous at times. Two penalties, we gave away three in total. The last one, we're having a go at the end and it’s an open goal for Kiltie. When you go down to ten men early on, you’ve always got a mountain to climb. I thought we started really well. Deservedly got out noses in front with a great goal from Matty Kennedy.
“You know what you're going to get with St Mirren. They're a very physical team, very direct with two big strikers. Probably one of the most physical teams in the league so you know you're going to have to roll your sleeves up and compete.
"I thought we did that. We dealt with the long throws that were coming in the box but you can’t legislate for the penalties and that’s what’s killed us.
“The first one there’s question mark whether it is inside or outside. The angle we’ve got isn't clear so I wouldn’t like to say they’ve got that one wrong but it looks like it begins outside the box.
“The second one is a really simple ball over the top and it’s a poor decision. That’s what gives us the real uphill task. I have to credit my players really. For the last half an-hour of the game, they were exceptional. We completely dominated the ball and looked like we were going to get an equaliser."
