Jim Duffy moved 'upstairs' at Clyde, as new boss is incoming

Jim Duffy has moved to a director of football role at Clyde, following their relegation to League Two.

The club, which is currently ground-sharing at Hamilton Accies' New Douglas Park, say a new boss will be announced "in due course".

Following a review at the end of the season, Clyde replaced the positions of manager, head of football operations and head of recruitment with a director of football and head coach.

Duffy, who played for Celtic, Morton, Dundee and Partick Thistle, and has managerial experience at clubs including Hibs, Dumbarton and Ayr United, told the club's website: "I am delighted to head up the new football department with Clyde as director of football.

"I understand the many challenges that clubs face these days, both on and off the pitch, but hopefully with many years of experience I can help take Clyde forward.

"I will be working closely with a new head coach to assemble an almost completely new squad, which will give us a fighting chance to compete next season.

"A lot of work is required in a short period of time."

Chairman Gordon Thomson said: "In this new structure, we believe the whole club will benefit from Jim's experience and knowledge of the game.

"We are delighted he has committed to the club and will help us build for the future."
