Jhye Richardson has suffered another injury setback, with the luckless quick ruled out of the remainder of Perth's Big Bash League title tilt with a side strain.
Just hours after being named to make his return for Australia in one-day international cricket, Richardson pulled up sore from the Scorchers' loss to Brisbane.
Scans subsequently showed the 27-year-old had picked up a side strain, ruling him out for at least a fortnight and leaving his comeback against West Indies in doubt.
Richardson has been the victim of a string of injuries that have stunted his international career, limiting him to 36 matches for Australia across all formats since his debut in 2017.
The paceman missed the start of this season's Sheffield Shield with a dislocated bowling shoulder.
Richardson has also spent time battling a hamstring injury this year, while he has had previous heel, shin and shoulder problems.
