Jharkhand registers 64.86% voter turnout in 1st phase

Ranchi: Jharkhand recorded a 64.86 per cent voter turnout till 5 pm on Wednesday in the first phase of assembly polls, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI). 

Lohardaga assembly seat is leading with a 73.21 per cent turnout, followed by the Seraikella-Kharsawan (72.19 and Gumla (67.35). 

Voting held for 43 seats

Voting was held for 43 seats across 15 districts in the first phase of the polls. The voting began at 7 am and continued till 5 pm.

The figure may increase after the final count is confirmed.

Second Phase on Nov 20

The second phase of voting in Jharkhand will take place on November 20 while the outcome of the polls will be announced on November 23.
