Historians and online detectives are trawling hundreds of documents relating to the 1963 assassination of former president John F Kennedy which have been released following an order by US President Donald Trump.

More than 1,100 files consisting of in excess of 31,000 pages were posted on the US National Archives and Records Administration’s website on Tuesday evening.
