Zach Wilson likely only expected to be a backup quarterback for Aaron Rodgers on the Jets this year.
But, now, Wilson is the starter after Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles on his first drive of Monday night’s game vs. the Bills. Despite this shocking turn of events, Wilson was able to lead the team to victory, thanks mostly to the touchdown he threw to receiver Garrett Wilson in the fourth quarter.
On Wednesday, a video released by NFL Films showed Garrett Wilson, receiver Allen Lazard and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett praising the quarterback on the sideline after the touchdown.
“Keep balling, bro,” Wilson said. “Good job, bro.”
“Just like that, it’s just like that,” Lazard added. “You feel how it’s off your shoulders now. Now it’s on them.”
“Don’t ever get too high, and don’t ever get too low,” Hackett said. “I ain’t ever gonna f------ change, alright? Breathe. Relax. Play your game. That was very impressive.”

Running back Breece Hall, who finished with 127 yards on 10 carries, added his own praise on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday by reposting the video.
“We ALL believe in 2,” Hall wrote.

It sounds like Wilson’s Jets teammates are in full support of their new starter even after just one game.
