Jets Star Wide Receiver Seen Limping Off Practice Field With Apparent Injury

One of the main goals of training camp is to find a way to keep your team as healthy as possible heading into the preseason, and ultimately the start of the regular season.

There’s not a single team in the AFC with more hype building around it than with the Jets. With new starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers in tow, New York is looking to make a playoff push for the first time in years.

A big piece to the playoff puzzle will be the receivers around Rodgers, namely second-year wideout Garrett Wilson. After a strong rookie campaign, expectations are high for Wilson going into year two.

However, it appears things have gotten off to a rocky start in training camp, as Wilson was seen limping off the practice field on Thursday with an apparent ankle injury. He did not return.

Thankfully for Jets fans, it sounds like Wilson’s removal from practice was precautionary. Coach Robert Saleh addressed the media following practice and confirmed that it was a hurt ankle for Wilson, but that he would be O.K.

In 17 games last season, Wilson hauled in 83 receptions for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns. He’ll be a key part of the offense in year two with better quarterback play on the horizon.
