It was a big loss on opening day for the New York Jets.
Even so, the panic button is not being pressed. The San Francisco 49ers took the Week 1 “Monday Night Football” matchup in a 32-19 final.
That emotion was being expressed by both players and coaches… and this message was sent out both after the game in the locker room and one day later.
“We’ve got to be better,” cornerback Sauce Gardner told reporters.
“I think a lot of stuff is correctable,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers added. “We’ll bounce back next week.”
But Gardner and Rodgers are not the man at the top. That’s head coach Robert Saleh.
Regardless, New York’s bench boss echoed the same message.
“It’s a 17-game season, we’ve got 16 left,” Saleh said. “I know we’re going to get the defense fixed. It’s not a problem.”
The first test for the Jets (0-1) in that rebound effort is the Tennessee Titans (0-1) on Sunday in Week 2.
