One humorous anecdote that arose out from the Jets’ introductory news conference for Aaron Rodgers on Wednesday was the revelation that the star quarterback seems intent on getting off on the right foot.
Literally.
As validation that the four-time NFL MVP already is feeling right at home with his team, Jets coach Robert Saleh divulged to reporters that his new starting quarterback attended meetings barefoot on Wednesday.
“(Rodgers) went in one of the meetings earlier and he was walking around barefoot,” Saleh said, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. “He’s awesome.”
Rodgers never has been shy when it comes to displaying his bare feet. Back in 2021, Rodgers went as far as to change his Twitter profile picture to his injured bare foot.
Following images of Rodgers’s foot going viral, he joined The Pat McAfee Show to discuss his COVID-19 symptoms. During his appearance, he jokingly said his only side effect was “COVID toe.”

Later, during a press conference in Green Bay, Rodgers showed his foot to reporters and cameras, revealing he in fact had a fractured toe, not COVID toe.
A Jets franchise which hasn’t reached the playoffs since 2009 now hopes Rodgers will put his best foot forward as a member of Gang Green in his 19th pro season.
