The New York Jets upset the Broncos on Sunday in Denver and in the process, won an emotional victory for offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Hackett was fired by the Broncos last year after a dreadful start, before eventually landing with the Jets.
Hackett's successor in Denver, Sean Payton, had been publicly critical of the job Hackett did with the Broncos.
"It doesn't happen often where an NFL team or organization gets embarrassed," Payton said of the 2022 Broncos. "And that happened here. Part of it was their own fault, relative to spending so much time trying to win the offseason - the PR, the pomp and circumstance, marching people around and all this stuff."
After the Jets beat the Broncos on Sunday, the Jets' social media team was quick to jump on the opportunity to roast Payton.
