The Jets announced Monday they have re-signed center Connor McGovern. McGovern started every game and played every single offensive snap for the Jets in 2022, a total of 1,114 snaps.
Keeping the O-Line together.
Welcome back @McGovenator60!!!

The Jets had some interest in former Titans center Ben Jones but the team will stick with McGovern for now. The Jets likely thought McGovern would move on and get more money elsewhere but the market never really materialized for him, allowing the Jets to bring him back.
The #Jets didn’t think retaining Connor McGovern was a possibility when free agency began. Internally felt he’d get big money elsewhere.
Market never really came together for him. Now he’s back. Good player & leader.

This at least gives the Jets a veteran option but shouldn’t preclude them from taking a center in the draft and allow that center to develop while McGovern starts.
McGovern will enter his fourth season with the Jets after signing with the team in 2020 after spending his first three seasons in the league with the Denver Broncos.
