Jets, Ravens Agree to Chuck Clark Trade, per Report

The Jets are set to acquire Ravens starting safety Chuck Clark in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round pick, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter notes that the trade has been agreed to by both sides but cannot be processed until the start of the new league year on Mar. 15.

Clark started all 17 games for the Ravens last season and made 101 tackles as a key member of Baltimore’s secondary. The 2017 sixth-round pick out of Virginia Tech spent his first six seasons with the Ravens, including the last four as a starter.

Over his career in Baltimore, Clark recorded 384 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, five interceptions and five forced fumbles.

Clark’s future with the Ravens became murky last offseason when the Ravens used a first-round selection on Kyle Hamilton out of Notre Dame. As Hamilton emerged alongside Clark in Baltimore’s defense, it became clear that the six-year veteran could become expendable if the right deal came along.

That deal came with the Jets, who will now add a reliable veteran presence to their secondary. As for the Ravens, they’ll clear over $4.1 million in cap space, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.
