Jets now sit above Bills in AFC East after Buffalo loses OT thriller vs. Vikings

The Jets got to enjoy their bye in Week 10 and took in what may have been the game of the year between the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings. That game wound up working in favor of the Jets as the Vikings picked off Josh Allen in the end zone in overtime to seal their 33-30 win to move to 8-1 on the season.

As a result, the Bills dropped their second straight and fell to 6-3, even with the Jets through nine games. Of course, the Jets beat the Bills in Week 9, giving them the tiebreaker, meaning the Jets are now ahead of the Bills in the AFC East standings.

The Jets didn’t get all the help they wanted, however, as the Miami Dolphins pounded the Cleveland Browns, 39-17. Tua Tagovailoa and company now lead the division at 7-3, but the Jets also have the tiebreaker on them thanks to their Week 5 win.

The worst-case scenario for the Jets coming out of the bye week is sitting as the No. 6 seed in the AFC if the Chargers beat the 49ers on Sunday Night Football, as they would win the three-way tiebreak among the Chargers, Jets and Bills.

If the 49ers beat the Chargers, then the Jets would sit at No. 5 and, interestingly enough, all three wild cards would be from the AFC East, as the Patriots would win a three-way tie at 5-4 over the Chargers and Bengals.
