Jets doing their homework on Bills QBs coach Joe Brady

Among all the veteran names floating around to join the Jets as Robert Saleh’s offensive coordinator, a young gun within the AFC East could also be in the mix for the role.

Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, one name to keep an eye on and someone the Jets are “doing their homework on” is Bills quarterbacks coach Joe Brady.

You may remember Brady as being one of the coaches, if not the coach, that helped Joe Burrow become the No. 1 pick in the 2020 draft and was one of the masterminds behind the 2019 LSU offense, considered one of the greatest offenses in college football history.

Brady then was pegged to be Matt Rhule’s offensive coordinator when Rhule became head coach of the Carolina Panthers in 2020. For one reason or another, perhaps a power struggle, Brady was let go in the middle of his second season in Carolina. A few months later, he joined Sean McDermott’s staff as quarterbacks coach after Ken Dorsey was promoted to offensive coordinator to replace Brian Daboll, who left to become head coach of the New York Giants.

While it may be considered easy work getting to work with Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Brady still brings some offensive firepower to the table, having also worked under Sean Payton in New Orleans and bringing that knowledge to Baton Rouge as the Tigers’ passing-game coordinator. Brady has also spent time at Penn State and William & Mary.
