The New York Jets will face the New England Patriots in their upcoming Week 7 matchup.
Even with it being an AFC East clash, it will still be the games, within the game, that will make all the difference.
Here are three key matchups to watch during Jets (2-5) versus the Patriots (1-6):
WR Garrett Wilson vs. CB Christian Gonzalez
Most eyes will be on Davante Adams when the Jets offense is on the field, as expected. He could very well win his matchup against Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones, but Jones is likely the Pats’ best player in the secondary. That will leave Gonzalez on Wilson which is a matchup the Jets should take advantage of.
LB CJ Mosley vs. RB Rhamondre Stevenson
With rookie Drake Maye now starting at quarterback for the Patriots, stopping Stevenson out of the backfield will be even more important than the first time these two sides met. Make Maybe beat you and Mosley will be the one leading the Jets defense against New England’s backfield.
DE Haason Reddick vs. OL Demontrey Jacobs
Reddick just ended his holdout and his debut will be a huge chance to make a splash in his first game with the Jets. He’s going up against Jacobs, who is the worst-rated offensive tackle in the entire NFL via Pro Football Focus‘ metrics.
