With the roster down to 53 players, the Jets can now start building their 16-man practice squad as well.
Up to 10 players with less than two accrued seasons — at least six games on an active roster, including injured reserve or Reserve/PUP constitutes an accrued season — can be signed to the practice and up to six players can be signed with no limits on the number of accrued seasons.
Players can be called up to the practice squad three times before having to sign to the active roster and teams can protect four players on the practice squad each week from being plucked by another team to their active roster.
We’ll track each reported practice squad signing for the Jets here.
