JetBlue Airways Is Launching a Loyalty Program With Easy-to-Earn Perks

As Madonna once sang, “And I'm gonna be true blue, baby, I love you.”

We’re not going to put words in anyone’s mouths, and we’re not going equate an airline’s loyalty program to the deep feelings that America’s Poet Laureate was singing about. But JetBlue (JBLU) is launching its new TrueBlue Program, and we certainly can say it does evince a deep level of appreciation for the airline’s frequent customers. Is that worth singing about? Perhaps.

Don’t Miss: Here Are the Top Expert Tips for Saving on Your Next Getaway

Starting on May 10, new and existing TrueBlue members can join the new program, and start earning greater rewards points.

TrueBlue’s final boss level is TrueBlue Mosaic® status, which is their highest level of loyalty. While they’ve overhauled the rewards system to make it easier to achieve this status, it will still take some time. But with the new TrueBlue program, you can get perks right away.

JetBlue Is Introducing Tiles

JetBlue has introduced tiles, a new tracking mechanism for status and perks. Members can earn tiles by using JetBlue credit cards, or by booking air, hotel and cruise packages from JetBlue Vacations, and cars, stays and activities from Paisly by JetBlue. You can also earn tiles from American Airlines (AAL) flights, thanks to an agreement with the two companies.

They’ve also introduced Perks You Pick, which you can earn with just ten miles. Some of the perks include early boarding, early boarding, one free alcoholic beverage, and double bonus points on a JetBlue Vacations package.

They’ve also changed the Mosaic program so it now has four levels. If you reach Mosaic 1 status -- and continue to progress, you'll automatically unlock Mosaic Signature Perks.

Also, you will be able to earn Mosaic status through both travel and credit card spending. You will be able to view your assigned Mosaic level and tile tracker once the program launches in May.

The More Things Change

But while JetBlue has made some changes, it’s also keeping many of these things people loved about True Blue, including:

  • Earn TrueBlue points on JetBlue, JetBlue Vacations, Paisly by JetBlue, JetBlue credit cards, American Airlines and loyalty partners.
  • Redeem TrueBlue points for any seat, any time, on JetBlue-operated flights—with no blackout dates.
  • Your TrueBlue points won’t expire.
  • Use cash and points to pay for JetBlue flights and JetBlue Vacations packages.
  • Pool points with family and friends.
  • Earn double points on jetblue.com or the JetBlue app.
  • Select reciprocal loyalty benefits for Mosaic members traveling on American Airlines.
