Summer is well underway as the UK braces for never-before-seen temperatures this week and for many, the hot weather will put them in mind for a getaway - perhaps to somewhere a little more prepared for the extreme temperatures with a swimming pool and air conditioning in the bedroom.
After more than two years of the coronavirus pandemic, for most of us this summer could be our first chance to getaway from the UK in a long time. And of course, going on holiday is meant to be relaxing even though getting there can be a fairly stressful process.
Airports across the UK, including Leeds Bradford, have experienced delays, cancellations and lost luggage as the entire aviation industry struggles to resume normal service with reduced staffing and millions of customers. Issues at the airport have also been caused by staff shortages in ground handlers, airport security staff and also strike action and the ECHO reports, some passengers have been driven to change or amend their bookings as a result.
