Jet2 passengers have recalled the "scariest moment" of their lives after a "security threat" diverted a plane away from Manchester Airport.
Following unconfirmed reports of a bomb threat, the Jet2 flight from Dalaman in Turkey to Manchester was escorted by two RAF jets to Stansted on Wednesday. Passengers on the plane said they had "no idea" what was happening as the plane landed in a "red point" at the airport before being swarmed by armed police, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Andrea Aspinwall was on the flight and said armed police had their guns pointed at the aeroplane as it was sat stationary for around two hours. She added that passengers were told to "keep calm", however "everyone started panicking".
