Iceland is home to an abundance of natural beauty where visitors flock to take in the spectacular Northern Lights and the stunning Golden Circle with its geothermal lagoons, spas and waterfalls.
The Nordic country has lots for visitors to see and experience and with the city of Reykjavik famous for its thriving nightlife, craft beer and colourful scenery, it's not surprising that millions take the time to visit each year.
Iceland can also be incredibly cold, with temperatures failing to make it above zero throughout the winter months. But for travellers who are happy to wrap up warm against the cold, dark nights, a visit to Iceland in January, February or March could offer front-row seats to the illuminated spectacle.
Best Iceland Northern Lights deals for Winter 2024/25
Anyone looking to book well in advance could see significant discounts on their Iceland experience.
While Iceland is many incredible things, it is never cheap. As one of the priciest destinations in the Northern Hemisphere, a trip to Iceland can be an expensive business if you don't shop around.
Luckily, the expansion of the Jet2 Northern Lights city breaks deals means that more UK travellers will have access to affordable trips to Iceland.
With return flights, accommodation, 22kg of hold luggage, a small cabin bag and transfers included, booking in advance for 2024/2025 will secure some of the best prices on the Jet2 website.
We found a three-night break in Reykjavik on November 4, 2024, for example, that costs just £503 per person. Flying from Manchester Airport, the price includes a stay at the Cabin Hotel on a bed and breakfast-basis.
For starry-eyed travellers who want to discover Iceland in the depths of winter, prices for February 2025 start from £559 with direct flights from Birmingham, and the Spring brings better weather and deals starting from £612.
With Iceland once again expected to be one of the top destinations for Brits looking for a winter getaway, other operators including easyJet, Wizz Air and Love Holidays are also offering good value flights and holidays in Reykjavik.
