With news that Tui has axed last minute summer holiday deals, hopes for a foreign holiday getaway may have been dashed for many families. However, bargain hunters could still be in luck. Travel giant Jet2 says holidaymakers could get away for as little as just 1p
Destinations include Cyprus, Crete and Gran Canaria. But of course, with a deal that sounds that good, there has to be a catch. However, in this case, it's an interesting catch.
The Jet2holidays' 'Bid for a break' deal is a promotion where you can essentially bid the lowest amount you want to pay for a holiday. Now, this is where it gets interesting; only the lowest unique bid will win the trip.

Last year, 23 holidaymakers won getaways to the Canary Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal and Turkey, reports the Mirror, with some of the bids starting from just 2p. Different holidays are released on different days. You can bid for a seven-night family holiday to Bulgaria from Monday, May 16, Crete from Monday, May 23, Gran Canaria from Monday, May 30, and Cyprus for Monday, June 6.
Deals are for family trips and couples. Families are classed, in this instance, as four people - two adults and two children.
So how do you bid? First, you'll need to download the Jet2holidays app. Go to the 'Offers' page and select 'Bid for a break'. Next, fill out the form with your contact details then add in your lowest unique bid, to the nearest pence. You can find out more about the holidays and get the full terms and conditions on jet2holidays.com/bid-for-a-break.
While there aren't many holidays you could bag for a few pennies, the good news is that all participants will still receive a discount code giving them £60 off their next holiday.
