Low-cost airline, Jet2 has issued a warning to passengers flying from UK airports today, Thursday, March 9. With many parts of the country sitting under a blanket of snow, following some of the coldest nights of the year and Met Office warnings for snow and ice, flights from several UK airports have been hit by delays.
In Nottinghamshire, snow has fallen overnight and Met Office warnings remain in place from 7am through to 2pm on Friday March 10.
A report by Nottinghamshire Live sister publication, Liverpool Echo has stated that, given the weather, Jet2 has asked passengers to allow extra time for check-in and security. They said: "We wanted to let you know that all airports may be busier than usual today due to adverse weather conditions.
"Please allow extra time for check-in and security procedures at the airport. Please go straight to security once you have checked in. To make sure you're prepared, please check the departure screens for your departure and gate number updates and allow extra time for passport control."
