Jet2 has announced another update ahead of the busiest summer for UK departures since before the pandemic struck.
The tour operator has added thousands of extra holidays and flight seats to cope with surging summer demand from people wishing to soak up some sun. More services have now been introduced to the Greek island of Crete.
This comes after an announcement last month that extra routes would be created to link a number of UK airports to resorts in Spain, Turkey and Portugal. Those extra flights were added timed for the bank holidays in May, as well as the Platinum Jubilee long weekend in June.

The new services to Crete will operate during the peak summer holiday season, providing holidaymakers and independent travel agents with even more choice and flexibility, meaning they can choose the duration of holiday they wish. The additional services are as follows:
- Leeds Bradford – Heraklion: addition of a second Monday service between July 25 and September 26 means up to six weekly departures.
- Birmingham – Heraklion: addition of a second Tuesday service between July 26 and September 27 means up to seven weekly departures.
- Manchester - Chania: additional Thursday services operating between July 14 and September 1 means up to three weekly services.
- London Stansted – Chania: additional Monday services operating between July 18 and September 19 means up to three weekly services.
Jet2 and Jet2 holidays have also added extra 2-5 star hotels and villas. This means there are now almost 200 hotels on sale in Crete this summer - a significant increase on its 2019 offering.
