Jet2 has warned passengers travelling this weekend to be prepared for “potential disruption” as severe weather batters the UK. Several airports were forced to delay flights on Friday morning due to heavy snowfall and icy conditions.
The cold snap is set to continue into the weekend which could impact those flying today and on Saturday. Yellow weather warnings for snow and ice remain in place for large parts of the country, lasting until Saturday.
In a statement released on their website, Jet2 said: “We are currently monitoring the weather conditions that are forecast to affect the UK over the coming days."

It added: “If you are travelling with us during this period, please arrive at the airport prepared for potential disruption due to the weather and ensure you have enough medication and essentials packed as part of your hand luggage in case of any delays in your departure. Please remember you can only take liquids in (up to) 100ml containers through security.
“If you are travelling to/from any UK airport using public transport, please check with your provider before setting off to ensure you arrive at the airport in plenty of time for check in.”
The airline added that passengers would be updated via SMS and email if their flight is disrupted. Customers can also enter their flight details on the airline’s website for information on individual flights.
