An airline has warned passengers that their experience may “take a little longer than usual” as Border Force staff plan to walk out on Wednesday, February 1. Jet2 issued the advice to customers, stating that their flights would be operating as normal.
Tomorrow up to 100,000 members of the Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) will strike in another long-running dispute over pay, jobs and conditions. Border Force staff are among those in government departments taking part in the strike action.
The government’s initial offer of a two per cent pay rise was rejected by the union for being well below the soaring rate of inflation. Now the PCS is seeking a pay rise of 10 per cent, the LiverpoolEcho reports.

The strike action means travellers entering the UK could experience long queues at airports on February 1. In a statement, Jet2 said: "We just wanted to remind you that there are planned Border Force strikes taking place from Wednesday 1st February until Thursday 2nd February 2023 at 07:00 . All our flights are planned to operate as normal.
"Things may take a little longer than usual, particularly when you arrive in the UK. Our teams will be on hand to help your journey run smoothly.
"You don't need to take any action, we will continue to update you if there are any further changes or updates."
