A holiday flight from Majorca to Glasgow had to carry out an emergency landing at Manchester Airport after a passenger became unwell today.
Jet2 flight LS190 took off from Palma in Majorca just before 9am UK time but a passenger became unwell as the flight sped over northern England.
As the plane was cruising at 24,000ft, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing, circled over Huddersfield for a time and then landed at Manchester Airport, where the Boeing 737 was met by paramedics who took the passenger to hospital.

It is understood other members of the passenger's family also disembarked. The passenger's condition has not been revealed. The Jet2 service took off later and completed its journey to Glasgow, landing at 3pm.
CCTV pictures from airlive.net showed the jet just before it touched down in Manchester.
A statement from Jet2 said: "The aircraft diverted to Manchester Airport due to a customer requiring medical attention."
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 13.38 and we have responded to a patient suffering a medical emergency. A woman was taken to hospital."
A spokesman for Manchester Airport said: "I can confirm that a Jet2 flight from Palma de Mallorca to Glasgow was diverted to Manchester this afternoon due to a medical emergency on board."
It is understood the plane carried out an emergency landing at Manchester and that paramedics met the flight, in line with airport procedure for medical emergencies
The stricken passenger is thought to have become ill during the flight and the pilot decided to cut short the flight and land in Manchester.
