The flight path shows how the plane headed back north, towards Manchester, circling twice over the Peak District and then landing back at Manchester Airport.
Reports online suggested the reason for the sudden diversion was due to 'technical' and 'communication issues' however in a public tweet, Jet2 said it was 'due to unforeseen operational reasons'.
Jet2 is yet to confirm the full details surrounding the incident and has been approached for comment.
