Jessie J has shared an emotional tribute to her son’s dad.
Posting to Instagram stories, the 35-year-old singer gushed about her basketball player partner, Chanan Safir Colman, 39.
After posting a selfie of her sat next to him - with him purposefully hiding his face beneath a baseball cap - she shared a picture of herself having a C-section last week, holding hands with the sport star.
On top, she wrote: “I struggle to keep things private. I think if you know me you know that. I want to protect people I love and keep it for just myself...and then so often I think f*** it because life is short but I don't want to regret it. Once you open the door you can’t close it.
“I met this man, weeks after my miscarriage in 2021. Like a beam of light. He lit up my dark days. It was a whirlwind love and a miracle that we fell pregnant naturally with not one issue during.
“Grateful doesn't cut it. He has given me many of the best gifts of my life."
The singer then expressed that her boyfriend had been with her while she gave birth to their child.
"He didn't let go of my hand this day and I wouldn't have been able to go through it without him.”
She rounded off her post with the words “thank you” and some comparisons describing their dynamic. She described him as “the calm to my crazy. The peace to my fear. The Daddy to my baby.”
Jessie has documented her pregnancy throughout and kept her followers up to date with what stage she is at.
After giving birth last week, she shared a post where she explained that she "spent 9 months prepping for a natural birth" but at one of her last scans was told she would need a C-section.
Reflecting on how some women are judged for having a “belly birth”, she declared: She added: "Hugging you all. We did it. We DID IT!!! And... THANK YOU for the love and support you have shown me throughout this whole process. I will only focus on that. Having a child has shifted my perspective and energy completely.
"I actively choose to only focus on the people who get it and support me. Everything else is background noise. I embrace my new life, my new body, my new world with no apologies. I will be on the beach with my body on show, I've missed too many moments in life caring about what people will say or think."
